From Prehistory to the Middle Ages, a trip back in time, from the Marche to the south of Puglia, through Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata. A tour that takes you from the south of the Marche Ascoli Piceno peering back in time by the noble towers and bell surrounding Piazza del Popolo to reach the fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio (AQ), where customs and traditions are still alive and present, then moved to Castel di Sangro surrounded by nature in one of the most beautiful valleys of Italy. The journey continues towards the Sassi of Matera, UNESCO world heritage site until you get to stay in Puglia in the ancient conical buildings in stone, Trulli, also a World Heritage Site.

Day 1: Ascoli Piceno - Arrival and accommodation at the reserved room of Borgo Seghetti Panichi or similar. Jewel in travertine marble, the city of Ascoli offers the traveler an architectural spectacle keen eye and unique: the 'elegant Piazza del Popolo, third only to San Marco in Venice and Piazza del Campo in Siena according to the architect Vasari, the cathedral of St. Emidio from pagan origins and which houses a triptych by Carlo Crivelli dated 1473. Throughout the city of Ascoli you can admire other beautiful churches and facades of palaces, all of the medieval towers still stand out, once they were 100 and Forte Malatesta. Dinner and overnight stay at the Borgo.

Day 2: Ascoli Piceno - Breakfast at the village. Free day to visit Ascoli Piceno or walk along the seafront in San Benedetto del Tronto or Groton. For wine lovers we recommend an upgrade to Offida and Castignano, for the wine-tasting Piceno. Dinner at Borgo with typical specialty of Ascoli Piceno and the Marche. Overnight.

Day 3: S. Stefano di Sessanio (138 km) - Breakfast at the village, departure to Santo Stefano di Sessanio. At the foot of the Gran Sasso was born  the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso which takes its name from the village architecturally recovered in recent years. It was a country abandoned its inhabitants all emigrated. Then the rebirth, unexpected, today Sextantio Albergo Diffuso came back to life, in full respect of its past and recognized as one of the "Historic Villages" most beautiful in Italy. A lesser heritage recovered with love, offering hospitality to the traveler attentive to ancient rural customs and their way of life. Traditional dinner at the Locanda Sotto gli Archi. Overnight.
There are different activities to be carried out from the village, riding a mountain bike on the trails of the Great or cattle track between the small villages nearby, or a walk to Campo Imperatore, where they were films such as Conan the Barbarian or Lady Hawke.
For fans of gourmet: from June to September and November to March we organize excursions In search of truffles Abruzzo in the undergrowth and deep-sea revival of the ancient recipes made with truffles.
Also from October November will visit instead the cultivation of Saffron, precious spice tip of excellence in the Abruzzo region, with the possibility to participate actively in the collection followed by hearty breakfast with products based on saffron.

Day 4: S. Stefano di Sessanio / Castel di Sangro (102 km) - Breakfast at Sextantio, departure for Castel di Sangro the SS. 17, arriving after about 1 hour and 40 minutes in Castel di Sangro, accommodation at Casadonna Reale. Cozy hotel built in a historic building from the XVI century, beautifully restored and surrounded by nature in one of the most beautiful valleys of Italy. Hours to relax surrounded by nature at the foot of the massif of the Mainarde, or sip a liqueur or a fine wine in front of the ancient fireplace or gaze at the stars on the terrace. Dinner gourmet done by one of the most appreciate chef Niko Romito between the ancient stones and smells of the surrounding forest. Overnight.

Day 5: Castel di Sangro / Matera (308 km) - Breakfast and departure to Matera. The journey today will be intense but full of colors, nature and history, starting from Castel di Sangro you will join the SS. 17 towards Molise Region and the city of Benevento, and then continue in the direction of Matera. Arrival in Matera, accommodation at Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita, in the rooms assigned to you. The whole area of the Sassi of Matera was declared a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993 and since then there has been a great work undertaken retraining. Time for relaxing or visiting the famous holiday resort of the Sassi of Matera, through its narrow streets means getting lost in a timeless journey, from the Paleolithic period to the present day: from the dark caves of the Murgia that take us back to our most distant ancestors to the churches rock and seventeenth-century palaces and monasteries, to the deep tanks used for water collection. Possibility of other excursions in the area: Hiking on the Murgia, guided night the Sassi of Matera, Matera gastronomic tour of the Bread and Mozzarella, Matera Cycling, Archeo Tour, the Way of the Badlands, Venosa Aglianico and wineries, the Lucan Dolomites. Lucan’s traditional dinner at the Restaurant Le Botteghe, overnight at Sextantio Grotte della Civita.

Day 6: Matera / Alberobello - Fasano - Savelletri (96 km) - Breakfast. Last hours available for leisure or guided tours in Matera. Departure in the morning at a time of Aberobello - Fasano, the SS 7 on the Upper Valley d’ Itria, crossing entire olive groves and vineyards that are have made Puglia famous all over the world. Along the way, you should visit the Caves of Castellana. Arrival in Savelletri and accommodation at Masseria Cimino. Free time to relax or visit the nearby excavations of Egnatia, one of the most interesting towns of Apulia, ancient Roman port for trade with the East. Dinner at the Masseria with typical products. Overnight.

Day 7: Savelletri / Alberobello / Ostuni / Savelletri - Breakfast in Masseria Cimino. Day dedicated to the visit of the town of Alberobello and Ostuni, that are an example of a civilization that has been able to preserve over time and that, even today, have not lost its charm and beauty. Alberobello with its Trulli, the narrow streets, the clear light to cut the pinnacles on the tops of the cones in stone. With the surrounding countryside bearers of education and living rock, with the fields of peach and cherry trees. The olive trees from the bark remote and full of history and the roots that keep the nectar of the time that has passed through the soul of the land. Ostuni, however, a real blank canvas, with paths going up and down, with the sea, from a distance, framing the country. Itria Valley is a set design that preserves itself the flavors of a beauty contaminated by civilization, architecture, Mediterranean, almost Hellenic, and the tradition that stands in the bell towers and men still sitting on a wooden chair in front of the door of the house, sell the fruits of their garden. Return to the Farm for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Savelletri / final destination - The tour ends with breakfast enjoyed in the patio of the farm, to observe the surrounding nature and the beauty of age-old olive trees that surround and embrace the same Masseria. Possibility to extend your  stay. End of services.
