1st day : Arrival in Matese / Truffles and villages
Arrival in Colle d'Anchise and accommodation in Albergo Diffuso. Transfer to Busso for the excursion in a "private truffle hunter" with quarryman, dog and rural tasting.
Continue to Casalciprano and visit to the village-museum. Return to Colle d'Anchise, dinner and overnight in Albergo Diffuso.
2nd day: Walking on the Tratturo (km 14 with altitude difference from 250 to 350)
Breakfast. Transfer by off-road vehicle and start of your today’s adventure with a walk on the Tratturo from Guardiaregia to Sepino where, along the way, you will visit the archaeological site of Altilia.
Before the Romans, a small but prosperous Samnite commercial center already existed in this place. With the victory of Rome over the Samnites, a thriving town was born here, Saepinum, which soon acquired importance in the Roman world thanks to the industriousness of its inhabitants and the rich families who resided there. Saepinum, defined as “the city of the Tratturo”, has a rhomboid shape with four doors placed at the ends of the Decumano and the Cardo. The walls, in uncertain reticulated work, were built just before 4 AD; along their path there are 25 circular and two octagonal towers. The return from Sepino is provided aboard off-road vehicles with the possibility of doing one of the following optional activities:
• Transfer by Jeep, through mountain mule tracks with a visit to the sanctuary of San Pietro dei Cantoni
• Scuderie del Peschio in San Giuliano del Sannio for a short horseback ride
• Guardiaregia for a visit to the nature trail of the WWF oasis with the San Nicola waterfalls
Return to the Albergo diffuso, dinner and overnight stay.
